Dragana Milutinović

Peace and development officer, Office of the United Nations Development Coordinator (UNDC)

  • Former activities:

Coordinator at forumZFD (forum for Civil Peace Service)

  • My organization:
The office of UNDC provide programmatic and administrative support to implementation of the inter-agency strategic plans, activities and projects; promote UN Kosovo Team’s advocacy and communication and monitor achievements of the inter-agency coordinated efforts. The advancement of the planned work is made possible through a number of mechanisms that are put in place to facilitate inter-agency and cross institutional coordination and joint development work.

  • Examples of concrete activities I have organized/am organizing in the field of “dealing with the past”:

I was organising discussion rounds on dealing with the past within the Kosovo Serbian community, editing the magazine MADE IN KS on various key topics and with diverse key actors from the field of dealing with the past, as well as for organizing art workshops (forum theatre, photography, poetry, street art, etc.) together with Kosovo Serbian artists on the topic of remembrance and identities.

  • Concrete challenges I am facing in my “dealing with the past”-related work:

Politicization of process, inability to accept the facts, issue of unsolved cases of missing person, luck of understanding what DwP means or confusion of concept of DwP with reconciliation perceived as something that MUST be done. Language barrier.

  • My personal link to/interest for the topic of “dealing with difficult pasts”:
Kosovo need to deal with its past, reshape it, properly address the pain and problems of the past, foster reconciliation and make possible for all citizens including me to enjoy peaceful and safe life. I believe I am giving contribution involving myself and people from my surrounding in this process and through my job engaging others especially members of Serbian community in Kosovo.
