• Examples of concrete activities I have organized/am organizing in the field of “dealing with the past”:
  

  I directed and co-directed several documentary films that reflect divided past of the border region between Slovenia and Italy. In 2007, I started a multiannual project of public collecting memories of citizens of both countries at the ex-border checkpoint between Nova Gorica and Gorizia within Kinoatelje film organisation with which I collaborated for several years. In connection with my documentary work, I teach practical university courses and conduct memory walks.

• Concrete challenges I am facing in my “dealing with the past”-related work:
  

  I’m interested in observing different ways of narrating past in film. As soon as we start to tell a story, whether it be a true or fictional one, we enter the space of imaginary that reveals as much about the storyteller as it does about what happened. Dealing with the past in film (documentary or fiction) is, therefore, a very challenging and responsible task.

  I’m interested in the therapeutic impact that memory telling has not only on individuals but also on society.
